I know it's been a long time since I posted but you have to hear this.....
My little Cooper Dooper has gotten into a little trouble at school. Well not real trouble but enough for us to have to sit and talk with him. This is how it went. About 3 weeks ago he came home from school with these little toy ball things, which I quickly learned were called bakugans. I asked him where he got them and he said "My friend Brian at school gave them to me." I told him Brian's mom probably doesn't know he took them to school and that he should give them back to him the next day. My mistake here was not making sure these tiny little toys didn't go right back in his backpack.
About a week later he came home with another toy and told me that same thing. "My friend Jake gave me this toy. This toy was a McDonald's piece of junk but I still made sure it went back into his backpack.
So yesterday he comes home and opens his backpack and has a watch. It was the geenie from Alladin but an adult size watch. And what does he say "My friend Carson gave it to me." Well at this point I'm starting to wonder what is going on at this school in my kindergartners class??? So I called his teacher and told her the whole story. She laughed and told me that a bunch of kids have been bringing toys to school which is not allowed. That day she saw the watch being passed around and talked to the whole class about it. She didn't know how Cooper ended up with it. It gets worse though. She said earlier that day she saw RJ give Cooper $5.00 for the watch. I about fell off my chair. I knew there had to be more to this story because Cooper doesn't even know how to do that. How could my little Cooper know how to wheel and deal???? And who sends their kindergartner to school with a $5.00 dollar bill??? We were both laughing and I told her what pocket of his backpack the watch would be in and apologized for Coopers behavior. She said she would get to the bottom of it and call the parents of the kids who are bringing this crap to school.
After dinner Nick and I sat Cooper down and asked him about the money thing. He said Carson gave me the watch and told me I could keep it. Then we had our heads on our desks for a game today and RJ sits next to me and he gave me "a money" for the watch. He said I knew you and dad needed to buy more capri suns and you said we don't have any money( which is a whole different story from the day before at Walmart). Then Mrs. Wheat got mad at us. Carson gave me the watch when we were getting on the bus and told me to keep it. I'm sorry mom, people just keep giving me stuff. So Nick and I made sure he knew he is never to take anything from anyone at school. Even if it is a cool bakugan, toy or watch. AND NEVER EVER EVER take money for any reason from ANYBODY. Poor Cooper was crying at the end but I think we made it clear to him. So we will see what happens today when he apologizes to Mrs. Wheat and gives her back the watch.
Is that funny or what???? Maybe I should put Cooper to work for me!!!!! ha ha
