Happy Thanksgiving!

I am thankful for a lot of things this year. It has been a rough couple of months but in those months I have realized all the blessings I have in my life.
The boys and I came to Utah this month to have Thanksgiving with Zach and Sarah. I am thankful for them and the love and support they show me. This morning I woke up and before I put on my slippers I got a text from my visiting teacher that said she was thankful the Lord put me in her life. How thankful I am for her and my home teacher. I have never ever had anyone come like they do. They both help me so much.
I am thankful for my family. They are all such an important part of my life. I couldn't get through my trials without their love and support. I love them and am very blessed to be a part of this family.
I have to express my love for the friends I have. Kandis, Vanessa, Nikki, Carol come to my mind immediately. They are the true meaning of a good friend. I love you all very much and don't know what I would do without you in my life. The girls I've met in the ARP program have become a different kind of family that I hold very close to my heart. Thank you for all your support.
My boys, how can I describe how thankful I am for them. They are my life. They keep me going each day. They remind me with their smiles that I have so much to be thankful for. Each one of them gives me life in different ways. Garrett helps me with so much, Cooper snuggles with me every day, Warner tells me he loves me and kisses my cheek, and my little Noddle's attempt to say words and watching him kneel in his crib each night and fold his arms warms my heart. I love them so much and am VERY thankful for them.
Last but not least I am thankful for the Gospel. I have a testimony of Jesus Christ. I have a huge testimony of the Holy Ghost and prayer. The boys have memorized my favorite scripture which we say every night before bed. It is Moroni 10:5, "And by the power of the Holy Ghost, ye may know the truth of all things." I am grateful to my parents for their example of faith, service, and obedience. I would be lost if I didn't have the church in my life. The atonement makes it possible for me to return to live with my Father in Heaven. That is my ultimate goal, to be with my family for eternity.
I have a lot to be thankful for this year. I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving. Eat lots and enjoy being with your families.

Katie On Bed Rest!!!

Katie is on bed rest. Her little daughter is trying to come out a little to early. We went to Home Depot and she had to ride one of these old lady things. I was laughing so hard I almost fell on the ground. I got one picture in before she hid her face. She made me and my mom promise we would only go up the rows. If we made her turn around she would kill us because then the loud noise beeps on her little vehicle. It was so much fun making fun of her. What a good sister I am!

Pumpkin carving!

The boys had so much fun carving pumpkins with their Dad and Papa. I don't know how I didn't get pictures of the finished products. Nick and his Dad are so artistic, they are the perfect pumpkin carvers.

The Rat!!!!

I don't have any pictures to support this story yet, but it has to be told.
I went on an overnighter with my friend/sponsor Nikki over the weekend. It was her daughter Shannon's 13th birthday so we drove her and 7 friends up to Nikki's in-laws cabin. On the way up Nikki told me that in their trailer they have a pack rat. Of course I was a little nervous about sharing my bed with some sort of rat. Well it gets better... Last time Nikki and her husband Jared were there they saw that all their silverware and knives and such were sticking out of the vents. This rat had taken everything out of her drawers and shoved it through the a/c vents. So Nikki came prepared this time with traps. She set them all up and had her Father in law inspect the cabinets and drawers for the RAT. No where to be found so she set up these sticky paper things right outside where the rat jumps into the trailer.
The night goes on we have fun out by the fire with the girls.
Midnight rolls around and Nikki and I are watching "National Treasure." She was standing up in the kitchen making hot chocolate when all the sudden she says, "Did you feel that?" I said no, feel what? She says she felt the rat jump up into the trailer.
So what happens next your wondering????
It gets stuck on the sticky paper. We are both running around freaking out about what to do next. I am telling her to go wake up her Father in law. I certainly wasn't planning on taking care of some freakishly big rodant. Nikki grabs like 5 b b guns and is handing them to me telling me to pump it up so we can shoot it.
I am laughing so hard I'm about to pee my pants. I tell her I can't shoot this gun, I have never shot ANYTHING in my life. She says fine and hands me a broom. She is going to shoot with both hands. Remember that while we are trying to figure out how we are going to kill this thing, it is flopping around inside the cabinet door, stuck to the paper stuff.
Finally, after she rolled the ice chest over to stand on, while aiming 2 b b guns, I am still standing on the floor holding a broom, we opened the cabinet door and the DA*N thing wiggled off and jumped back into the hole.
After all that she didn't even get to blow it's head off. And I didn't get to hit it on the head after she shot it!!! HAHA. It might not sound that funny to you but it was so hilarious.

I had so much fun with Nikki, Shannon and her friends. Nikki is such a blessing in my life. I met her almost 4 years ago at my very first LDS ARP family support meeting. She came up to me and gave me her number and said we had a lot in common and that I could call her to talk anytime. Ever since then she has always been there for me as a friend and sponsor. I love her so much and would shoot a rat with her anyday!
I did take a picture of her with the guns but I used her camera so I don't have the pictures yet. I will post them when I get it. It is going to make you laugh!

Anyone going to Utah this weekend??

I am looking for anyone who may possibly be driving to Utah this Wednesday or Thursday and coming home Saturday or Sunday. I have a friend who's husband passed away so I am trying to get there for his funeral.
Even if you know someone who is only driving one of those days, that would help.
Thanks and please pray for Dena, Skyler and Jade Jones.

What to do?????

Last week Garrett wanted to wear pants to school so I opened his drawer and through him a pair. As he tried to put them on I could have cried. They would barley go over his knees. I wondered if somehow Coopers pants got in his drawer but sure enough they were his. So I said well buddy you grew a TON so we are going to have to buy you new jeans. Cooper was in the room with us and he said he wanted some too.
So off to school they go-

When they got off the bus Garretts first question was, "Mom can we go buy my SKINNY jeans now?"
Did any of you catch that? He said SKINNY jeans!!!!!!! I started laughing hysterically and immediately called Nick. That conversation went something like this.
Me: "You will never believe what your boys want me to go buy them."
N: "What?"
M: "Skinny jeans"
N: "Oh Sh- -"
We enjoyed a good laugh and talked about what to do about this. Is this really the new style?
Needless to say Nick and his Mom took Garrett to the mall and today he is wearing skinny jeans. I will post the picture later today, they look really cute on him. Now Cooper is dying for his turn to go get SKINNY JEANS!
Kill me now if my boys think they are going to be EMO's? Is that even what it's called???

More pics from California

I don't know how to put into words how I feel about this wonderful person. Luanne is like one of those people you know that is nice all the time. I don't even know if I can actually remember a time where I have seen her get really mad. She is such a good example to me. Luanne in my opinion has a reserved spot in heaven. If you know her you will know what I am talking about. Sometimes I wonder how on earth she ended up with my brother. J/K- He is wonderful too. I love her so much and just wanted you all to know that. Thank you Luanne for everything you do for me which is A LOT!
How funny is it that Sarah's foot is the one with the huge tan lines and she is the only one who lives in Utah. The rest of us are white as ghosts.
I stopped this guy who was jogging on the beach and asked him to take our picture which my sisters informed me was rude. How was I supposed to know that? I don't run!

Happy Birthday Mom! 9-11-09

Mom,
Thank you for being you. When I think about you I think of the example you have always been to me. You've taught me the gospel, how to be a good mother, how to listen, how to love- I look at all of us and the women in my life I want to be the most like are you and my sisters. You are such a good mom and I am so grateful for that. You listen to me cry, and what touches my heart the most is that you cry with me.Thank you for always being there. I Love you so much and hope you have a good birthday. You deserve it.
Love,
Lindsey

Things I will remember most from the trip-

We had Derec's garmin gps. Mom was in the front seat and all the sudden she(holding the gps) puts it up to her ear and said, "What? say that again"... As if the gps voice could hear her. Katie and I laughed so hard we almost peed our pants.
Then there was this-
Katie- I don't want to listen to this lady.
Me- Why?
Katie- After seeing Eagle Eye, I'm just waiting for her to say "DUCK" or " Do you know where your children are?"
We laughed so hard at this stupid gps lady. Sarah went all but crazy not having a real map. I will remember our CRAPPY pedicures, driving, parking the monster truck at a 20 minute meter, running to the beach only to touch the water, run back and see the meter cop almost to our truck, driving, shopping, laughing, driving, yelling turn left, Alisa yelling turn right, Luanne never losing her cool with all the backseat drivers, movies which was a sore subject, the temple, church-, but most of all LOVE! Thanks again ladies!

Girls Trip!

We planned a trip to California for my Mom's birthday. Her birthday is 9-11 and at one point we had a trip planned to New York and then..... two airplanes crashed into the world trade center and none of us were comfortable getting on the plane 2 days later. So many years later we played it safe and DROVE to Cali. It was tons of fun driving in Derec's HUGE truck, laughing, talking, bouncing around on those insane California freeways. But most of all it was amazing to be with the most important women of my life.. I love you more than words can express.

First Day Of School!!

My big little boy is 8 1/2 and in 3rd grade. I'm not the mom that cries on the first day of school, but I do a get a little teary when I think of how much I love this big boy. He is so strong, protective, smart and sensitive. He is a good example to me and teaches me new things every day. I love you so much Garrett. Thanks for always helping me out.
Now here is my little Cooper Dooper. He is 6 1/2 and in 1st grade. Cooper is so funny and loves to have his picture taken. His smile can just melt your heart. Cooper is a fun, smart, loving, sweet boy who is always excited to play with his brothers and cousins. I don't know what I would do without my little helpers.

My knights in shining armor. They really don't know how much I love and adore them. They loved their first day of school.

Tiffany bracelet

Nick bought me this for my birthday a couple years ago and I hardly ever wear it so I posted it on craigslist today. I just thought I would offer it to my friends and family too. I am selling it for $100.00.

Lots of Cabin Fun!!!

Grandpa holding Noah on the patio.
Kinley fishing with Uncle Don.
Noah had tons of fun throwing rocks into the water one by one.

Cooper asked me to take a picture of him doing that with his arms.
Look at all those cute boys.
Noah got to dip his feet in for a split second.
Kambree having fun in the water.
Kinley, Warner and Kambree were collecting all kinds of fun things.
I couldn't resist this picture. Kinley has her moms butt or lack thereof I should say. So cute!
Garrett got so wet his jeans were about to fall off.
Braden stuck his head in the freezing water.

Duck and Cover

Noah hides in this little space pretty regularly. Maybe it's because he follows Izzy, I'm not sure but it makes a cute picture. By the way he is walking FINALLY. He's only 17 months now!!! Love this little guy.

Be that kind of Women!

My mom sent me this email that said this and it has been on my mind for WEEKS...

Be the kind of women that when you wake up in the morning and you step out of bed Satan says, "Oh crap, she's awake!"

I want to try and be that kind of women. I know it will take a lot of work on my part but there is nothing I want more than to feel spiritually strong!

Last Day Of School!

A look back at the first day of Kindergarten-
Garrett's first day of 2nd grade

Tomorrow is the boys last day of school. I am so sad for them and me!!! They love their school and this year Cooper had the best Kindergarten teachers. Thank you Mrs. Wheat and Mrs. Williams. Mrs. Williams is the sweetest lady ever. She is that type of teacher who truly loves your child. The grandmother type. I could just hug her for the smile she put on Coopers face and mine. Both of my boys Garrett and Cooper made the first honor roll with a 98% for 2nd grade for G-Man and 97% for kindergarten for Cooper. Congratulations on a great year boys. I love you!

This poem came home with him today:
Kindergartners are special people

You're a very special person,
And, Cooper, you should know
That we loved being your teachers
And we're sad to see you go.

As you get a little older
And give each grade a turn,
Try hard and do your best,
There is so much to learn.

Two things we tried to teach you,
That learning is life long
And that you are special
Just because you are Cooper.

Thanks for a fun year,
Mrs. Wheat and Mrs. Williams

This is what happens when...

When the sprinklers come on and Warner and Kambree want to play in them poor Kambree ends up in this outfit. What was I supposed to put her in??? Never mind the fact that they are like 3 weeks apart. Look at the difference in height??? She is such a doll, we love having her over to play. Maybe I should buy some girl swimsuits and at least one backup outfit for days like this. We love you sweet heart, but for now it's Quiksilver Baby!!!

Happy 31st Birthday Nick!!!

Nicks birthday was the 28th and he asked for an XBOX 360 fully knowing he wouldn't get it because they cost a fortune so I had my sister in law Allie make him this cake instead. She is doing all kinds of cakes now and I knew he would LOVE this. Well when we got to the park he thought it was a real XBOX. The cake was really heavy so he thought somehow I hid the real XBOX inside the cake frosting. We were all laughing so hard because he was like a little kid. Getting really excited... I kept telling him it was just a cake but he wouldn't believe me. So he did this.......
Sure enough it was just a cake. Sorry honey maybe you can get the XBOX for Christmas. Thanks to Allie for the amazing cake. She is a baking genius!
